A weekend packed with 'famously hot' events is just what we like, and let's just say that we really?like weekend in the Spring! To start,?St. Pat's in Five Points, one of the biggest St. Patrick's Day festivals in the Southeast, kicks off Saturday morning?in Five Points. But, as we said, that's just the start -- here's what's hot this weekend: FRIDAY, MARCH 15
Clifford?at?EdVenture Children's Museum?
Bring the kids to this "paws-on" exhibit to learn about Clifford's Big Ideas and slide down the nine-foot high, adorable creature's tail.?Museum admission, $11.50.

The Civil War in South Carolina: Family, Work and Sacrifice?at South Carolina State Museum

The fourth installment of the Museum's series of exhibits focusing on the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. General admission for adults; $7.00.

10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Get a tattoo or watch some of the nation's leading tattoo artists create their masterworks. Edgy entertainment and adult beverages will be available as well. $20 daily admission or $35 for a weekend pass.

2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Newsong, Toby Mac, Matthew West, Red and more of today's top religious artists will perform in Christian music's largest annual tour.?$10 at the door.
7:00 pm

Disney High School Musical, Jr.?at the?Village Square Theatre
The popular Disney story follows students at East High?as they hang with their cliques and sing and dance their way through the basketball championship, the Science Decathlon and auditions for the school play.?Purchase tickets online, $10-12.

"9 to 5 The Musical"?at the?Town Theatre
A madcap tale about three very different but resourceful women who rally together to declare war on their tyrannical, sexist boss.?Adults, $20; Youth, $12.
8:00 pm? "The Color Purple" at Workshop Theatre

This inspiring family saga tells the story of a woman who triumphs over adversity and finds the healing power of love. Features jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music and blues. Admission $12 - $22.

With many men leaving Simply, Alabama to find work, a group of single women at the Simply Delicious Diner compete for the new guy in town. $16 for adult admission.?

Le Cafe Jazz?at?Finlay Park
Settle down for a night of live jazz and good food at Finlay Park.?$10 admission includes food bar.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

Race through beautiful neighborhoods and down Columbia's premier shopping district for the first St. Pat's in Five Points event. Registration begins at 6:30 am.?$40-$45 day-of registration.

7:30 am - 10K Start; 8:00 am - 5K Start

Part of St. Pat's in Five Points, this kid's playland features entertainment, rides, a petting zoo and more. Kid-approved bands and entertainment begin at 10:00 am.?Free and open to the public.

9:00 am - 6:00 pm

It's here! Music, food, beer, shag dancing, a playland and more will make this one 'surprisingly Irish' Saturday in Columbia, SC. 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Weekly local farmers' market on Columbia's historic Main Street. Eat breakfast then shop for dinner!?Free.

The South Carolina Philharmonic, led by Conductor Morihiko Nakahara, will play works from Rossini, Schubert and Shchedrin (featuring the "Carmen Suite"). Tickets are $12 - $42.
