Judy Peterson's Owl Family - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts ...

Another way scrolling makes me money is by saving money. When my 4 year old has a birthday party I make a puzzle out of scrap, rather than my wife spending money on a gift. This week's birthday girl loves owls. Hey- an excuse to make Judy Peterson's owl family puzzle! While I was cutting I thought that one of the pieces was going to be too thin to survive, so I modified the pattern on the fly. Later I looked at it and realized the thin piece was supposed to be removed (around the small owls' heads). So I modified again and ended up with exactly the problem I was trying to avoid! Oops, my bad. Still came out well enough. I baked the tree to create some contrast with the owls, and I like the way it came out. Subtle, but noticeable. It's birch finished with BWMO.
Thanks for looking.
