Paid Customer Service Intern Position-2013

The Virginia529 Customer Service Center is the first line of contact with the general public and is responsible for maintaining a high standard of professionalism.? The Customer Service Intern will assist the Customer Service Team during high call volume periods with duties related to responding to incoming inquiries from Virginia529 account owners and prospective account owners.? The Intern will be responsible for assisting account owners through to resolution of their inquiry including any research and/or follow up.? A candidate with excellent verbal communication skills and currently enrolled in a Bachelor?s Degree program is desired. ?This position will work during the summer months, winter break, and other breaks as schedule and location permit.? ?Duties will include the following:

????????? Respond to incoming telephone, email, and written requests regarding Virginia 529?s programs by providing accurate and complete program information

????????? Prepare for customer service inquires by studying products, services and internal customer service processes

????????? Upon successful resolution of an inquiry, document all inquiries thoroughly and in accordance with Agency policies and procedures

????????? Process account updates to account owner demographic information

????????? Assist account owners and prospective account owners with online application and account access process

????????? Assist account owners who choose to visit VA529 seeking assistance with account setup, account payments, payment confirmation and the usage of their Virginia529 program benefits

????????? Requests program information and enrollment kits, and forms to be mailed to current or prospective account owners as requested

????????? Calculate and provide estimates to prospective account owners for prePAID contracts

????????? Assist the Customer Service Team with retrieving voice messages from customers during high call volume periods, and assisting with responding to customers that have basic account questions as requested.
