News of Kate Middleton going into labour makes Twitter go into overdrive with Royal Baby tweets

As the world media camped outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary?s Hospital in Paddington, west London waiting for Kate Middleton to go into labour for almost 20 days now, the hour finally arrived on Monday.

Clarence House tweeted saying,

This news was then followed by a flood of tweets from news agencies around the world announcing the news. Journalists, Royal baby fans and those who didn't care all joined the action on Twitter as the tweet-spree started with celebs also wishing the royal couple well.

Twitter also had many people tweeting abuses at the media coverage of the Royal baby with the attention the birth has received over the past few weeks.

The traction Royal pregnancy has received on Twitter suggests that love or hate it the Royal baby's birth can't be ignored as every second thousands of tweets about the baby are being tweeted.

The news of the baby's birth will be announced traditionally with a notice that will be pinned outside Buckingham Palace. All those on Twitter will be keenly watching the Clarence House handle that announced the labour first.
