Sony is bringing a playable PS4 to Comic-Con but little to play

Yes, you can touch the new DualShock.

Sony announced on their PlayStation Blog they?re coming to Comic-Con with the anticipated and currently indomitable PlayStation 4. And you can play it. Yes, all of you who jealously watched videos and heard of others who were able to get their hands on the comfortable DualShock 4 at E3 will now have the opportunity to give everyone else who were too broke to afford tickets to an overcrowded convention a year earlier snide looks. Spending a crude amount of money to fight through large crowds and exchange sweat as you bump into half-naked JRPG cosplayers has paid off. Expect long lines.

Where this public event falls a bit short is its lineup of games. Driveclub, Knack, and Octodad. These aren?t games to waggle your finger at, by no means, but the selection is rather thin. Granted, there wasn?t much PS4 to play at E3, either, but it would be nice to see a bit more in case people aren?t that concerned with holding the undoubtedly best controller they?ve made.?I?m just saying.

If you want to avoid the foreseeable infinite line to play the next console, Sony will have PS3 and Vita games on the floor. For the PS3, Sony is bringing Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Puppeteer, Diablo 3, and Batman: Arkham Origins. Of those selections, our own Joe Donnelly played Beyond: Two Souls and Puppeteer, being disappointed by the former and pleasantly surprised by the latter.

For the Vita, Sony is bringing Killzone Mercenary, The Walking Dead, Spelunky, Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate, Tearaway, and Dragon?s Crown.

Now, I just have to remember to avoid taking my wife downtown for a date next weekend.
