Please call 504-621-2189 for more info or to meet Lollie. Lollie is a young Australian Shepherd, probably around 2 years old and maybe younger. She was found crossing back and forth across a busy highway and was nearly hit several times. Lollie had no collar, tags or microchip. After contacting local veterinarians, the shelter, the pound and placing an ad in the paper, we have still not been able to locate her owner, so Lollie has now been placed up for adoption. Lollie is a very affectionate girl and will sleep in the bed with you (happily, and silently at the foot). She knows how to sit and shake hands and can catch treats quite well. She is very pleased to be with people. I have found that she gets along well with my dogs, but can become a little possessive of her favorite person, and tends to want to scare the other dogs away from the object of her attachment. I have never seen her be aggressive toward people, but she will bark when strangers come to the door. Lollie is going to make some family VERY happy. She is a GREAT dog for kids and adults alike! She is VERY smart and will be able to learn new tricks easily. She can jump very high, which will be great for teaching her tricks, but she should not be left alone outside because she is so athletic, that she may be able to escape fences. I have been keeping Lollie in my home and she has never had an accident. I do take her out regularly and keep her kenneled when I am not home. She will steal food if it is left unattended, but who wouldn't swipe a yummy oven-baked pork chop??? Lollie does not have an "adoption fee", but her new owners must agree to spay her, get her vaccinated and put her on heartworm prevention. You may pick the vet of your choice, but it must be done.
